2016 #VCDX Defense Improvements
Q4 is always an exciting time for the VCDX program. As the year wraps up, this is time we spend planning, reviewing, and adjusting for the coming year. There are a few areas that have long been in discussion with the two VCDX Advisory Council members all year, as well as, many of the panelists. We are happy to announce some improvements that should make these easier to prepare for in 2016.

Virtual SAN and support for SATADOM
Advertise here with BSA It seems that a lot of people haven’t picked up on this… With Virtual SAN in the past, or better said with vSphere, booting from SATADOM was not supported. Update SRM 5.8.0.1 to 5.8.1 ASAP if you use linked mode
VMware have not shouted about this one as much as they should have, given the potential gravity of the situation. If you use linked mode to connect multiple sites and have SRM 5.8.0.1 installed, then you will not be able to run an SRM recovery when you have the sites disconnected. As in, when you are experiencing a disaster which you want to recover from as quickly and painlessly as possible, as in, precisely what you purchased SRM for in the first place, you’re out of luck. So, if you are…Read More
