As in the last years, I put together a list with all the parties, gatherings, events and activities taking place during VMworld US 2016. This year, VMworld comes back to Las Vegas, Nevada. So you can expect some really great locations for parties and gatherings after a long day at the conference. The official VMworld Party for example will take place at the famous Las Vegas Motor Speedway – definitely a great place for a great party.

VMworld US Content Catalog is now live!

The 2016 Content Catalog allows registered and prospective VMworld attendees access to the VMworld agenda, with the ability to peruse breakouts and note sessions of interest. You can search and filter to your heart’s content by track, category, session format, industry, role, technical level, speaker name, location (US or Europe), and keyword search. You cannot schedule sessions in the catalog.

Public session voting now open for VMworld

I’m not sure VMware has officially announced it yet but public voting for VMworld session submissions is now open. I haven’t seen any tweets on it from the @VMworld account and the main VMworld web page doesn’t mention it yet but the Content Catalog is now live and after some poking around I found the Vote for Sessions link on the VMworld site on the Learning drop down tab. The link basically just takes you to the Content Catalog which I posted about yesterday, but you can vote on your favorite sessions if you login to the site.

Continuing on the theme of making the VMware Software-Defined Data Center real, here is a preview of my abstracts for VMWorld 2016 submitted along with our partners Hitachi Data Systems and NetApp. One session will feature SAP HANA with the Dynamic Tiering option and the other session will feature Oracle 12c with the in-memory option. Both these sessions will showcase full stack SDDC architectures; NSX, vRealize Operations, vROPs Management Packs, and software-defined storage (virtual volumes). For the Oracle session NetApp will be a co-presenter and for the SAP HANA session Hitachi Data Systems will be the co-presenter. Get ready because VMWorld voting opens May 3rd – 24th
