Year-over-year revenue growth of 9% to $1.74 billion, supported by strong growth across all regions VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW) , a global leader in cloud infrastructure and business mobility, today announced financial results for fiscal 2018 first quarter: Revenue for the first quarter was $1.74 billion, an increase of 9% from the first quarter of 2016. License revenue for the first quarter was $610 million, an increase of 7% from the first quarter of 2016. GAAP net income for the first quarter was $232 million, or $0.56 per diluted share, up 48% per diluted share compared to $161 million, or $0.38 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2016.
