Public session voting now open for VMworld

I’m not sure VMware has officially announced it yet but public voting for VMworld session submissions is now open. I haven’t seen any tweets on it from the @VMworld account and the main VMworld web page doesn’t mention it yet but the Content Catalog is now live and after some poking around I found the Vote for Sessions link on the VMworld site on the Learning drop down tab. The link basically just takes you to the Content Catalog which I posted about yesterday, but you can vote on your favorite sessions if you login to the site.

Remove “All vCenter Server” option from vROps…

A quick post to share a handy option which is available on vROps version 6.1 and above. We all know that their are multiple methods to authenticate a user to login in vRealize Operations Manager. I have usually seen organizations starting with their vROps journey using the vCenter Authentication option which comes out of the box with the product as soon as you integrate vROps with your vCenter server.

One of the major announcements at EMC World this year was the release of Unity, a new midrange All-flash storage array from EMC. I was particularly pleased to see this release as a key design goal for Unity was to deliver native support for vSphere Virtual Volumes and Storage Policy-Based Management. The certification for EMC Unity for both block and file across both All-flash and Hybrid configurations has been completed and is available on the updated VMware Virtual Volumes compatibility guide.
